Amy Estep Obituary

Amy Sue Moon Estep

Amy Sue Moon Estep, 50, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, surrounded by her family, in Venice, Florida.

She was born Aug. 27, 1973, in Tiffin. Amy was known for her sharp wit and exceptional sense of humor. Throughout her life, she cherished the joy of laughter and the thrill of a good bingo game. She was also an avid player and teacher of backgammon, sharing her love for the game with many. She was an excellent cook and was known especially for her delightful Christmas cookies that her family and friends looked forward to each year. Her skills also extended to working with tools and building things. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoyed hiking in the woods and waterfalls, visiting lighthouses, fishing, and floating in her pool.

Amy had a profound love for travel with Key West being her favorite getaway. Amy found joy in the company of her pets throughout her life, but her true happiness was found in the time spent with her beloved children and grandchildren. Amy dedicated over 12 years of her career to being an Uber and cab driver, a job that allowed her to utilize her remarkable ability to navigate anywhere safely and efficiently. This career not only suited her love for travel, but her natural sociability and desire to connect with people from all walks of life. Above all, Amy was devoted to her family.

She married her love of 35 years on July 10, 2007 and is survived by her loving wife, Danielle Kay Moon Estep; daughters, Courtnie Suzanne Estep, Kylie Marie Estep, Kassondra Lyne Moon, and Samantha Kay Emerson; sons, Cody J. Estep and Alexander Paul Moon; grandchildren, Hayven Marie Cox, Kinleigh Sue Cox, Evie Marie Bland, Esme Grace Bland, Elie Sue Ann Fay Yonts, Cody J. Yonts Jr., Benjamin Michael Voldahl, Kai Alexander Vincent, Cooper Adam Mills, Allani Isabella Emerson, Avery Lilianna Emerson, and Valley Capri Emerson; sister, Patricia E. Hess; brother, Richard Leon Hopple; and several nieces and nephews.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou Wilson and Lester Leroy Estep; and siblings, Joy Lucille Mesnard, Williams (Bill) Ray Estep, Linda Lue Estep, and Martin Lee Wilson.

Amy's life was a testament to her vibrant spirit and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and boundless love.

My condolences to Amy´s family. I looked her up today because I met her once, on an Uber ride to visit my father in Venice back in January as he was dying of cancer, and she shared so much of her own personal journey with me. When she asked where my father was from, it sparked a very different conversation, as they were both born in Tiffin. She let me share my worries and sadness over that car ride and, in return, she said she would keep us in her prayers. I did the same for her. I felt like she was an angel put on my path, at the first leg of my very difficult journey to see him.
