Anita L. Whitney

Anita L. Whitney, 84, of Bloomville and former resident of Tiffin and Gibsonburg, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

Anita was born Dec. 19, 1940, in Saint Marys, to Ralph and Edna (Schamp) Whitney.

Anita's survivors include three daughters, Drusilla Jacobs of Fremont, Diana Gingrich of Opelika, Alabama, and Lauri (Rick) Walters of Bloomville; 14 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and brother, Neal Whitney of Lima.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lyn Blaser; son, Benjamin Hines; brother, Joe Whitney; and sister, Carol Whitney McMurray.

Anita was a clerk for the Fisher-Big Wheel store in Fremont for many years, retiring in 2004. She was a 1958 graduate of Saint Marys High School and she enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, listening to all sorts of music, and pulling taffy.

Anita's funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, Bloomville, with Pastor Neal Whitney officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville. Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home in Tiffin.
