Arthur L. Carp

Arthur L. Carp age 77 of Marion, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

He was born June 22, 1947, in Tiffin to the late Donald E. and Catherine M. (Borer) Carp.

Arthur graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School in 1965, he then attended Tiffin University, where he earned a business management degree. He was an U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1966-1969 during Vietnam, employed at Hayes-Albino in Tiffin until they closed. He then moved to Marion with his family and retired from Whirlpool at the age 62. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, VFW Post No.3313, enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, gardening, and watching Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns football games, enjoyed antique cars, and was in a car club. Most what he loved was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

On December 12, 1970 he married Margaret Jean "Peggy" (Bogner) Carp, she preceded him in death December 7, 2016.

Arthur is survived by his three daughters, Kimberly (Walt) Davis of Marion, Tammie (Dennis) Arnold of Tiffin, Kelly (fiancé- Tom Oesch) Webster of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Cameron Webster, Kristen Webster, Gracie Webster, Garrison Carp, Laura Arnold, William Garvin, Emma Arnold, Briley Carp; and soon to be stepgrandchildren, Xavier, Ciarra and Cameron Oesch. Also survived by his brother, Joseph (Theresa) Carp of New Riegel; sister, Theresa (Rick) Huffman of Tiffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Carp; his son, Brian Carp; and his siblings, Barbara St. Marie, Janet Crawford, Mary Williams, Robert Carp and Edward Carp.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Snyder Funeral Home, Denzer Chapel, 360 E. Center St. Marion. Mass Of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 N. Main St. Marion, with the Rev. Daniel Colby presiding. Burial will be at a later date.
