Barbara Montgomery Obituary
Barbara A. "Barb" Montgomery, 76, of Green Springs, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at Valley View Health Campus surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 16, 1947, in Fremont, the daughter of Walter and Catherine (Hammer) Rigby. She was a 1965 graduate of Green Springs High School. Barb married John Montgomery on June 19, 1965, in Fremont, and he survives.
Barb was a homemaker and babysitter for many years at her home in Green Springs. She was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church, American Legion, and VFW. Barb loved animals and enjoyed rides on her golf cart around town. Her true love though was to spend time with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's events.
Barb is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Montgomery of Green Springs; children, Cheri (Paul) Hohenstein of Clyde and Johnny (Rhonda) Montgomery of Green Springs; son-in-law, Ken Davis of Green Springs; brother, Thomas (Rebecca) Rigby of Sun City, Arizona; grandchildren, Kyle (Alesha) Davis, Jacob (Kazmir) Norman, Alec (Shaylyn) Montgomery, Nathan Montgomery, Jessilyn (Tommy) Stein, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) Hohenstein, and Heidi (Derek) Foreman; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lori Davis; and granddaughter, Taylor Norman.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, until the time of Barb's memorial service at 5 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs.
