Barbara J. Thomas

Barbara J. Thomas, 69, of Fostoria, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 27, 1954, in Fremont, to Clarence and Marjorie (Tewalt) Cook. She married James Thomas II on Feb. 24, 1973, and he preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2000.

Barbara is survived by three children, Heather (Billy) Deuble of Fostoria, Jaime David of Fostoria, and James Thomas III of Fostoria; grandchildren, Justin (Cayla) Thomas, McKenzie Deuble, Desiree (Madison Cramer) Thomas, and Cienna (Kody) Miller; great-grandchildren, Corbyn, Casen, Elsie, Eldon, Edison, Stella, Lincoln, and one on the way; and siblings, Nancy (T-Ray) Combs of Tiffin, Larry (Jane) Cook of Tiffin, Kenny Cook of Green Springs, Dick Cook of Tiffin, and Linda Ferguson of Clyde.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Pat Carter.

Barbara worked as a bus aide at Seneca County Opportunity Center for over 20 years and was a babysitter and homemaker. Barbara was ornery and always spoke her mind, never sugar coating anything. Her life was dedicated to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She also loved her many dogs over the years.

Private family burial will take place at Sandridge Cemetery in Bascom. Barbara's public celebration of life will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, at Fostoria Eagles Club, 1049 N. Countyline Street, Fostoria, Ohio, 44830.
