Bernice Tucker Obituary
Bernice L. "Aunt Bea" Tucker, 85, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
She was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, to Willie and Martha (Davis) LeGrant. She married George S. "Big George" Tucker Sr. on June 2, 1958, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, and he preceded her in death Sept. 8, 2001.
Bernice is survived by her children, Patrick (Chere) LeGrant of Toledo, Ronnie Tucker of Fostoria, Michael (Cheryl) Tucker of Fostoria, George (Cassandrea) Tucker Jr. of Fremont, Evelyn Tucker of Toledo, and Floyd (Kimberly) Tucker Sr. of Fostoria; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Martha; and siblings, Cornelius LeGrant, Willie Jone LeGrant, Oscar LeGrant, Walter Grant, Thurman Grant, Lecole LeGrant, Huel LeGrant, Horace June LeGrant, Henry Allbrooke, Rose Anna Tucker, and Mattie Bea LeGrant.
Bernice retired from Honeywell in 1998 after 30 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fostoria and served on the Mother's Board. She was known for her cooking, especially for family gatherings. She liked to watch sports and was a diehard Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Bernice used to be on the UAW Bowling league that traveled all over the state.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Bernice's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 534 Lynn St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Committal services and burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Bernice truly loved the Lord. Therefore, we humbly ask in lieu of flowers you send a contribution in her memory to First Baptist Church, Fostoria.
