Bernie Wagner Obituary
Bernie Wagner, 74, of New Riegel, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, after a sudden and tragic accident and illness.
He was born Nov. 11, 1949, in Fostoria, to Francis and Fredricka (Coleman) Wagner.
He is survived by four beloved daughters, Lynn Nye, Kelly (John) Poteet, Kimberly (Jeff Stallard) Wagner, and Jennifer (Paul Ward) Wagner; grandchildren, Trevor, Morgan, Jonah, Carly, Travis, Dylan, Cody, Casey, Kirsten, Kylie, Kelsie, Cameron, Kadyn, and Joclyn; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Layne, Arya, Wyatt, Naomi, Koe, Mikal, Elise, and Emira; and siblings, Janet, Ronnie, Donna, Jerry, Barb, and Steve.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenny and Richard; and son-in-law, Rick.
Bernie was a 1967 graduate of New Riegel High School and member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel. He retired as a meat cutter from New Riegel Café and Great Scot. He enjoyed classic cars and spending time with his friends at the New Riegel Moose and Left Field, and most especially his buddy, John Mathias. Bernie's greatest love of all was his four daughters, whom he regarded as his "best friends" and his amazing grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at All Saints Parish in New Riegel where the Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a gathering at Left Field in New Riegel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the NBS Joint Fire District & EMS in care of the funeral home.

Bernie and I were first Cousins. We were the same age and had classes at NRHS. He was fun to be around. We visited Uncle Ervin and glued stickers on brooms that he made. I know that he was totally devoted to his "Girls". He was a hard worker that allowed him to get his beautiful cars. I will miss him.
