Bonnie J. Boroff

Bonnie J. Boroff, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, November 1, 2025, at her home.

Bonnie was born in Mercer, Pennsylvania, November 1, 1942, to James and Joyce (Ferris) Swan. On July 25, 1998, she married James Boroff.

In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by her sons, William (Melissa) Cordell of North Canton, Robert Cordell of Tiffin and Jim's son, Alexander (Emily) Boroff of Fremont and daughter, Virginia (Eric) Carswell of Fayetteville, North Carolina; brother, James (Gail) Swan of Bandon, Oregon; sisters, Judith DePonceau of Charlestown, New Hampshire, and Jane (Bob) Davis of Erie, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Bonnie was a 1960 graduate of Mayville Central High School and then graduated from Ohio University. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Bonnie and her husband were owners of Boroff Publication Services, Inc. She was director of advertising for their weekly newspaper, "The Open Market."

She served on the board of Tiffin-Seneca Public Library for more than thirty years. In 1989 she was awarded Trustee of the Year by the Ohio Library Association. Bonnie served on a number of boards and commissions including Seneca County Board of Health, Metropolitan Housing Authority and Salvation Army. She was a charter member of Tiffin League of Women Voters and member of Kiwanis for 21 years, serving as past president of Tiffin Kiwanis Club.

Bonnie was the clerk and an elder of Tiffin First Presbyterian Church and was a pulpit supply minister for Maumee Valley Presbytery until her death.

She was an avid gardener and organized Sandusky Valley Herb Society. She also enjoyed music, reading and the company of her three cats, Dyson, Eureka and Oreck.

Her Celebration of Life will be at noon Saturday, November 15, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church, 96 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, with the Rev. Katie Treadway officiating. A light luncheon will follow services at the church. Burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery at a later date. The service will be available through live stream on You Tube link, https://youtube.com/live/aZNj1AvGlwU?feature=share.

Friends may visit with family from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Seneca County Humane Society or Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.
