Charles Bonnell Obituary

Charles B. Bonnell

Charles "Charley" Bonnell, 82, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023.

Charley was born in Feb., 1941, in Tiffin, to Harold and Doris. Charley's family settled in Old Fort, where he attended Old Fort High School. After graduation, Charley enrolled at Bowling Green State University. In 1963, Charley moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to attend graduate studies at University of Michigan.

During the summer of 1964, Charley started working for Ford Motor Company at the Wayne Michigan Assembly Plant, beginning a 38-year career. He retired from Ford National Employment Services Center (NESC) in Dearborn, Michigan, in 2002.

In 1968, Charley married Kathryn "Kay" in Tiffin. They met in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and settled there, raising a family with two sons, David and Michael.

Charley is survived by his sons, David (Amber) Bonnell and Michael Bonnell; and grandson, Dawson Bonnell.

A special thank you to the doctors and medical professionals of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, whose good works gave many years of extra life.

Charley's interests included Ann Arbor Train and Trolley Watchers, Ann Arbor Civitan Club, where he was the treasurer for many years, bowling at Colonial Lanes, and attending home Michigan Football games rain, snow, or shine for nearly 50 years.

Private cremation services have taken place.
