Charles McLaurin Obituary

I am very sad today to find out that Mac has passed away so recently. I have a very fond memory of "Mac" and I will never forget how great he was as a human being and a businessman. He was a vendor for a property management company I worked for - remodeling rental properties I managed for Freddie Mac - in Blue Island, Harvey, Hazel Crest and Homewood. I am the one, who, after he requested it, got him in contact with 4 Polish immigrant workers I met in a Polish club Cafe Lura, who as he put it, changed and turned around his business into a much bigger company. From what I heard they built houses next to his house in Lisle - if I remember well - and became US Citizens. I started searching the web for MAC today, after listening to a message from my answering machine that Pamela left in the 90s - Pamela saying his last name correctly - as I searched for Mac for years using wrong spelling. The memory I have of my Uncle Charles he was always supportive of his family in anyway he could assist. I invited him to attend my church service to witness my trial sermon. When I looked out over the congregations it did my heart good to see him there. He imparted very encouraging words to me to keep going. He would call to check on us often especially after my mother his sister passed away. He was the last Uncle I had left. Uncles you will be truly missed. Love you much your niece Sheila!
