Charles F. "Butch" Schrenk Jr.

Charles F. "Butch" Schrenk Jr., 80, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday evening, March 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Tiffin, to Charles F. and Levon E. (Shriver) Schrenk Sr. Butch married Joyce Czako on May 20, 1967, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fremont.

He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Joyce Schrenk of Tiffin; daughters, Charla (Paul) Walker of Attica and Coanne (Brian) Hohman of St. Joseph, Michigan; son, Charles F. "Corey" Schrenk III of Tiffin; grandchildren, Keifer (Chadd Callahan) Walker, Brayden (Ashley Rickard) Walker, Danielle (Michael Nolan) Hohman, Skyler Walker, Carter Hohman, Connor (Maria Boehler) Schrenk, and Aiden Schrenk; sisters, Kathleen "Kay" Sevenich of Wauseon and Loretta "Jean" Corfman of Florida; and brother, Robert "Bob" Schrenk of Tiffin.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Sevenich and Keith Corfman.

Butch was a 1962 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. After high school, he served in U.S. Army Reserves from 1962–1969. He worked at National Machinery for 39 years and Whirlpool in Findlay where he retired in 2008. After he retired, he worked part-time at Greenlawn Cemetery until 2019. Butch was a member of Tiffin Eagles #402, volunteered laying carpet for Habitat for Humanity, enjoyed traveling to the wineries throughout Michigan and Ohio, doing the bourbon trail in Kentucky, Finger Lakes in New York, family vacation in Hilton Head, mushroom hunting in Michigan with family and friends, and attending football games at The Ohio State University, Heidelberg University, Tiffin Columbian, and Seneca East. He truly loved each of his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them as they grew into wonderful adults.

Butch's funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424. The Rev. Clayton Bailey will officiate with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank April and Heartland Hospice for the incredible personal care that they gave Butch and to his family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
