Cleora Mae Byers

Cleora Mae Byers, 94, of Republic, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Elmwood at the Shawhan, Tiffin.

Cleora was born March 26, 1930, in Republic, to Frank and Marie (Kraft) Yennie. She married Donald Byers on Nov. 1, 1953, at Adams Zion Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death.

Cleora's survivors include her children, Mark (Marybeth) Byers of Republic and Diane (Randy) Nolan of Norwalk; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Clarence Santos of Newark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Edward and Robert Santos.

Cleora worked at General Electric in Bellevue, Lyme School, and GTE Phone Company. She was a member of Adams Zion Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Cleora was a graduate of Republic High School and enjoyed traveling, animals, and gardening.

Cleora's funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Adams Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Roxanne Roush officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 12-1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow services Friday at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, Bloomville, is assisting family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society or Republic EMW and Fire.

I´m sorry for your loss. I met Cleora during several visits to Elmwood while visiting my mom, Marge Granata. Cleora was such a sweet lady and my mom truly has enjoyed her friendship while at Elmwood these last few years.
