Connie Faehnle Obituary

Connie Jo (Wilkins) Faehnle

Connie Jo (Wilkins) Faehnle passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

She was born and raised in Bloomville in Seneca County to Elmer and Esther Wilkins.

Connie left Bloomville in 1966 to attend Toledo Hospital College of Nursing.

After graduating, she worked for Toledo Hospital as a surgical nurse for over 35 years. She then retired from The Surgery Center at Regency Park.

Connie was fortunate enough to have traveled throughout the United States before her son, Benjamin, was born in 1975. Ben was always the "love of her life."

One of her fondest travel memories was her trip to Hawaii with her mom, Esther.

In 1996, she married Michael Faehnle and they enjoyed their lives together with their blended family and many memorable vacations to St. Augustine, Florida, and numerous camping trips with all the children and 12 grandkids.

A quiet, yet outspoken soul, she will be missed by her son, Ben Bohnett (Rachael); four stepchildren, Aaron Faehnle (Robin), Dianna Gergely (Grant), Hannah Rogers (Jason), and Kevin Faehlne (Tess); and 12 grandchildren. Connie will be especially missed by her three sisters, Paula Streacker (John), Betty Flynn (Robert), and Lee Perkins (Robert), and her life-long friend, Diana Weasner.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Ann; brother, Barry; and parents, Elmer and Esther Wilkins.

A celebration of life tribute will be arranged at a later date.

My deepest condolences to all the family and especially to her husband. Connie and I work together in surgery and we always had such a good time. She was a sweetheart, smart and funny and kind to everyone. Rest in peace, my dear friend, love,

Connie Jo was one of my favorite people to work with at Toledo Hospital. My love of surgery was in great part due to her teaching and guidance. Although we have lost touch over the years, her passing is felt by the many co-workers who were fortunate enough to have known her. God bless you, Connie and may your family find peace and joy in the memories you shared.

Dear Mike I feel so bad about Connie. I will miss her more than I can say. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family members left behind. I will not be able to attend the celebration of life. My oxygen supply will not last that long. It was my pleasure to work with for many years

Connie and I attended nursing school together. I always considered her my best Friend. Besides being beautiful and smart, she was loyal, caring and a wonderful person. She was so happy when she and Mike found each other. She was so proud of Ben and loved her stepchildren - she said they were always fun to be with.

Connie an I went to Nursing School together. I considered her my best friend. She truly was an amazing friend! She was loyal, honest, smart and always there for me! We kept in contact for years at Christmas. I remember how happy she was when she met Mike. She was always so proud of her son Ben and loved her Step children! She remarked that they were so much fun to be around! I was going through some of the letters from her and she mentioned cardiac issues in a Christmas card years ago. Unfortunately we lost touch over the years. I am so sad about her passing - it was way too soon for someone so full of love and life. Please except my sympathy . I know you will be comforted by all her friends and family.
