Curtis J. Reuter
Age 79, of Highland, formerly of Calumet City, IN passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Curtis is survived by his dear love of 40 years, Giau Eckerty; children, Leslie (Nick) Grish, Erik (Shulun) Reuter, Rodney (Tina) Eckerty and Tommie (Dawn) Eckerty; precious grandchildren, Andrew “my boy”, Krystal (Chad), David, Kennedy, Chylar, Kinsley and Dominic; great-grandson, Liam; siblings, Christopher Reuter and Jay (Robin) Reuter; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Jim Bazoukas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Doris J. (nee Curtis) Blixt and Maurice Blixt; stepson, Bobby Eckerty; brother, Jeff Reuter.
Curtis was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and graduated from T.F. North High School in 1964. Later he attended Milwaukee school of Engineering and proudly worked as an electrical engineer with IBEW Local 697. Curtis honorably served his country as a United States Marine during Vietnam War.
Curtis will be remembered as an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching just about any game, collecting baseball cards and coins and attending car shows with ones he loved.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN, with prayers at 6:30 PM, Rev. Charles Niblick officiating. Services conclude at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors in Curtis’ honor, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
