David J. Sigler

David J. Sigler, 84 of rural Sycamore, died at 2:36 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025, at home.

He was born March 6, 1941, in McCutchenville, to Forrest and Muriel (Jordan) Sigler. He married Carolyn (Riedel) Sigler, March 9, 1964, and she survives.

Surviving are the following children, Jana Snyder, rural Sycamore, Joel (Nina) Sigler, Lewis Center, and Jay Sigler, rural Sycamore. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Glad, Athens, Georgia; two brothers, Raymond Sigler, Bucyrus, and Mark (Betty) Sigler, Harpster and brother-in-law, Don Cover.

He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Meacham; a son-in-law, Paul Snyder; and his sister, MaryEllen Cover.

David was a retired machine operator who had worked at Timken Company, Bucyrus, for 42 years.

He attended Union Salem Family Church, was a 1959 graduate of Mohawk High School, a social member of Sycamore American Legion and served in the Army Reserve.

At one time, David was the president of McCutchenville Alumni and Mohawk Athletic Boosters, and an assistant coach for Mohawk High School Baseball team. He coached A League and Pony League baseball, as well as eighth-grade basketball. He held the county discus record at one time, loved to golf, loved to race stock cars, and bowled for many years. David collected coins, loved astronomy and was an avid photographer.

Funeral services for David will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with Pastor Larry Bertsch officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
