My parents, Marilyn and Len Morris were dear friends of Pat and David for many years, both in Stamford and in Massachusetts. I knew both of them from a young age and was friends with all their children, particularly Rebecca (Betsy!) As family friends we spent a lot of time together, playing tennis, having BBQ's, having sleepovers and were core family friends for many years. I lost touch with the kids but saw Pat and David often when I went to Brandeis. David was indeed a powerful but kind force, with innovative ideas and abundant energy, always with a compliment, a joke and great warmth. I have very fond memories of him and of time spent with him, Pat and their collective children. They were a big part of my childhood. May his memory be for a blessing.

My parents, Len and Marilyn Morris, were good friends of Pat and David. Although I had not seen David for many years, I still remember his remarkable and distinguished record of public service - a record of service, which I have tried to emulate. I also very much remember what a very nice and caring individual he was and that I learned a lot from him. What a great life he led. Rest In Peace, Mr. Squire.

I met David in Boston when he was about 89 years old. I was a Physical Therapist who worked with him for a couple years. What a wonderful guy and a great athlete! I was always so impressed with how up to date he was on social issues, politics, technology, and health. We had the best conversations and his positive attitude and open-mindedness always shined through. He made a lasting impression on me.
