David O. Yeager

David O. Yeager, 95, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 23, 2022, at St. Francis Home.

He was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Hillsboro, to Carl O. and Stella (McCall) Yeager. He married Jacqueline Mohr on Sept. 1, 1957, at Trinity United Church of Christ and she preceded him in death Nov. 13, 2005.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Yeager of Columbus; and cat, BW.

David was a faithful and dedicated member of First Christian Church where he was a trustee and Deacon. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1946 and enlisted in U.S. Air Force, serving until 1950. He was an M.P. in Fassberg, Germany, during the Berlin Airlift from 1948-1949. Dave worked at National Machinery as a machinist, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Tiffin Lions and National Machinery Quarter Century Club, and enjoyed traveling, Ohio State football, and following high school football. Dave always had a smile, loved animals, and made many close friends over the years.

Private burial will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.

Friends may visit and share stories 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at First Christian Church with a memorial service to begin at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. Seneca County United Veterans Council will conduct military honors at the conclusion of the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church or Seneca County Humane Society.
