Deborah Ellen Kenner-Sanchez
Deborah Ellen Kenner-Sanchez, 67, of Upper Sandusky, passed away peacefully at 2:32 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her family.
Ten years following her brother, Charles and Wilma Kenner finally gave birth to a beautiful girl March 14, 1957. She was always so proud to share her birthday with Albert Einstein, therefore, claiming to be the "smartest" in the family.
On a chance blind date, Debbie met Arnulfo Sanchez and later married June 2, 2000, and he survives.
She had a deep love for friends and family and is also survived by her brother, Dan (Kay) Kenner; nephew, Jeff (Krista) Kenner; niece, Melissa (Scott) Johnson; stepsons, Jason (Gwen Newhouse) Saum and Arnulfo Jr. (A.J.) (Christine) Sanchez; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
She dearly missed her parents and a great-great-nephew who preceded her in death.
Debbie graduated from Mohawk High School in 1975 and was an advocate for keeping her class reunions and "Ladies of 75" still together. She then graduated from Bowling Green State University. Her love for children took her to Marion City School where she taught math and then became a high school guidance counselor. She took every opportunity to help kids succeed in school while teaching life lessons along the way.
Debbie was everything to everyone. When she met you and by the end of the conversation, she knew where you lived, where you grew up, and about your family. She knew no stranger. Her favorite things were having pool parties, cookouts, dancing, playing cards, telling jokes, sudoku, writing poems and music, and making vegetable soup. She even had a poem book "Sunrise to Sunset" published.
Visitation for family and friends to bring their stories will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Deborah's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
