Michelle Desmonds Obituary

Michelle Desmonds, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughter and lots of love after a valiant and courageous fight with cancer on February 4, 2026, Born on March 29, 1961, Michelle lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and deep love for others. For more than 25 years, Michelle devoted her professional life to Benchmark Human Services, where helping people and delivering mail was not just her work but her true calling. In addition to her passion for her career, Michelle found joy in fishing, spending time with family, playing games, relaxing at the lake, and watching movies. She cherished the simple moments and the time spent surrounded by those she loved most. Michelle was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Desmonds, and her son, Lee Desmonds Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Cassondra Mize; her sisters, Melanie (Gerald) Buchs of Hudson, Susan Schuhler and Rosie (Joe) Stier of Fort Wayne; along with several nieces and nephews, dear friends, and the many lives she touched through her kindness. Michelle's spirit will be forever missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Service is 11 am, Friday, February 13, 2026 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 4 pm to 8 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm. Preferred memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
