Dencil Sayre Obituary

Dencil Lee Sayre

Dencil Lee Sayre, 71, of Lynx, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Born in Fostoria, October 8, 1953, to the late Gaylord and Mayota (Gill) Sayre.

Dencil is survived by his two daughters, Joy Sayre Sheffer (Joel) of Gibsonburg and Amanda Sayre Sauseda of Fostoria; Brothers, Gary (Deb) Sayre of Risingsun and Gaylord "Elban" (Mercedes) Sayre of Grosse Ile, Michigan; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one niece; five nephews; and a close-knit circle of loving friends who will feel his loss immensely.

Dencil graduated from Lakota High in 1972 and went on to study Wildlife Resource Management at Hocking Technical College. He later established his own backyard business, Sayre's Taxidermy, and retired from Honeywell Autolite Plant after a dedicated 30-year career.

Dencil's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He had a rare gift for making people smile and laugh. His warm, genuine spirit left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. He will be remembered not for the way his life ended but for the meaningful, joyful way he lived it-and for the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind.

There will be a celebration of life at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 750 Hamilton Road Lynx, OH 45650; while a separate gathering for his loved ones up north starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Risingsun Community Park Blockhouse. Complete details of both events to be released by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dencil Sayre Memorial Fund in care of The Union Bank Company to assist with final expenses.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his spirit continue to inspire and uplift us all.
