Dennis K. Hively

Dennis K. "Denny" Hively, 73, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022, at Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital.

He was born Sept. 24, 1948, in Sandusky County, to Clarence and Louise W. (Waugh) Hively. On July 11, 1970, he married Patricia "Pat" Ekleberry.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Hively of Tiffin; son, Sean P. (Chelsey) Hively of Lewis Center; and granddaughter, Danielle Hively of Westerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Hively; and sister, Deborah K. Thompson.

Denny was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He served in a Special Forces unit, MACVSOG in United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from the Army, he went to Tiffin University and received a degree in Business Management.

He was a member of the Sycamore Masonic Lodge and Valley of the Firelands Scottish Rites, AmVets Post 48, and past member of Shriners and Eagles #402.

Denny was a previous Tiffin business owner of Tiffin Home Entertainment and business consultant for Ritchie & Associates.

Denny was a proud Vietnam veteran. He was an avid golfer and had a couple of hole-in-ones, enjoyed bowling, going on road trips, and loved spending time with his family, especially going to his granddaughter's sporting events.

Denny's funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424, with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery with military honors being conducted by United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Masonic Services will begin at 1:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Seneca County or Shriners Hospital for Children.
