Donnell A. "Don" Lee
Donnell A. "Don" Lee, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Elmwood Assisted Living at The Shawhan.
He was born December 23, 1941, in Fostoria to the late William S. and Alice L. (Glick) Lee.
Don was also preceded in death by his beloved twin brother, David A. Lee, and brothers, Raymond A. Lee and William R. Lee. Although Don never married nor had children, he was an active participant in the lives of his nieces and nephews, sharing in their school events, life celebrations and recognizing their birthdays and holidays with annual greeting cards. As his health declined, his surviving "children" supported and comforted him through his life changes, checking in with him daily to offer love and assistance.
Don attended St. Wendelin High School and graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School in 1960. He worked at Fostoria Industries before retiring as an activities director at Good Shepherd Home in 2015.
With a lifelong passion for music, Don started playing the organ for Catholic masses at the age of 12. Over the next 67 years, Don served as organist for St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom, St. Peter Catholic Church in Alvada, St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Riegel, St. Wendelin Catholic Church and First Christian Church, both in Fostoria.
A devoted Catholic with a special place in his heart for the Blessed Virgin Mary, Don was an admirably religious man. His collection of icons and statuary was a constant reminder of his ongoing faith journey. He lived his Catholic religion on his sleeve in a gentle manner.
Don was a member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel, 3rd Degree St. Francis Gaspar Council No. 10749 of New Riegel and Fostoria 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Fr. Kirsch Assembly No. 845.
Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W.
