Dorothy Margraf Obituary
Dorothy Ellen Margraf, 100, of Arcadia, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.
She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Berwick, Ohio, Charles Leroy and Nora Catherine (Bloom) Earl. Dorothy graduated from McCutchinville High School in 1941. She married William Henry Margraf on July 6, 1945, and he preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1979.
Dorothy is survived by six children, Gene (Peg) Margraf of McCutchenville, Dick Margraf of Findlay, Jerry (Gayle) Margraf of Linton, Indiana, James (Teresa) Margraf of Arcadia, Darlene (Rick Noel) Mattox of Arcadia, and Duane (Simone) Margraf of Eagle, Michigan; 16 grandchildren, Bret, Gina, Jenelle, Christina, Michaela, Rachel, Justi, Jodi, Jerrie Lyn, Ryan, Beth, Tierney, Jennifer, Jason, Michael, and Janna; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dean Earl of Findlay and Paul Earl of Tiffin.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brothers, Ray and Ervin Earl; sisters, Sarah Spieldenner, Edith Vogel, Ethel Peters, and Bernice Earl; and granddaughter, Jamie Margraf.
Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Arcadia, Arcadia Garden Club, and Dorcus Ladies Circle. She worked at Food Town as a cashier for many years. She loved her family time and babysitting her grandchildren which brought her much joy and happiness. Dorothy also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Arcadia. Dorothy's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at Washington Township Cemetery, Arcadia.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dorothy to Trinity Lutheran Church, Arcadia, or Washington Township Fire Department.
