Edward Schank Obituary

Edward Schank

Edward "Ed" Schank, 57 of rural Sycamore, died at home Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born January 16, 1968, in Upper Sandusky, to Marion and Rose (Arend) Schank. Marion died in November 2023 and Rose survives in Sycamore.

Surviving are two brothers, Bob (Cindy) Schank, Twinsburg and Dale Schank, Wise, Virginia; and a sister, Anita (David) Poole, Willard. He also has nine nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Schank, who died in 1986.

Ed was in shipping and handling for Toledo Mold and Die, Tiffin, having worked for them for 39 years. He also worked as a general contractor in the evenings and on weekends, mainly installing roofs for people and addressing any other needs they had.

He was a 1986 graduate of Mohawk High School, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Sycamore and was a social member of Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250.

For hobbies, Ed loved to go to tractor pulls, loved NASCAR, going to country concerts, camping, canoeing and going golfing with family, but really just loved hanging with family and friends.

Ed's funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matt Rader officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.

Memorial contribu-tions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Pius X Catholic Church, Right to Life or the Carl Schank Scholarship Fund in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, Ohio 44882.

Ed always had a smile on his face. I looked forward to that smile every night at work. He always beeped going past my press and had that bright smile and casual hand wave. We all lost a great man. My condolences to his family and friends.
