Edward Straub Obituary

Edward L. Straub

Edward L. "Ed" Straub, 78, of Bettsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.

Ed was born May 7, 1945, in Michigan. He married Hyon Ju Straub on May 10, 1970, in Korea, and she survives in Bettsville.

Ed's other survivors include his brothers, Dan Straub of Tiffin, Chuck Straub of Toledo, and David Straub of Marion; and sister, Julie Cahill of Tiffin.

Ed served in U.S. Army for 21 years. He also worked for Tiffin Park District, Tiffin EMS, and volunteered for Bettsville EMS. Ed was a member of Isaac Walton and was a graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Straub.

Ed's graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024, at Fairmont Cemetery with military rites being rendered by United Veterans Council.

Engle-Shook Funeral Home, Bettsville, is assisting family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice.

Ed and I worked together in the Parks department many years ago. He was very skilled in maintenance and displayed a high work ethic who took pride in all that he did. Underneath his tough exterior was a very kind and compassionate soul. He will be missed and I´m grateful for his friendship and my time working with him.
