She was a beloved member of the St. Mary Church Choir, women's choir, mixed choir, funeral choir, and wedding choir for over 45 years until she could no longer travel the stairs to the choir loft.

Since James was in the Air Force, they relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, while he was stationed in the Azores during the Korean War. She worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a supervisor and then transferred to Southern Bell in Nashville. In 1956, they returned to their lifetime home in Tiffin and created a new life with Streacker Tractor Sales. They were privileged to travel all over the world in association with the business.
She particularly enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling to Casinos, and participating in her grandchildren's sporting events, which she considered a large part of her bonding with them.
