Elizabeth J. "Betty" Ott

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Ott, 96, of Tiffin, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Willows at Tiffin. She was born June 4, 1926, in Tiffin, to Raymond E. and Gervase A. (House) Bentz. She married Ray M. Kerschner in March, 1947, and he died in Nov., 1952. She then married Edward C. Ott on Nov. 23, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church, and he died Dec. 7, 1972.

She is survived by her children, John (Delene) Ott of Orlando, Florida, Stephen Ott of Tiffin, Barbara (Dennis) Kleine of St. Louis, Missouri, Timothy (Ann) Ott of Tiffin, and Deborah (Steve) Tyree of Carey; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Henry (Ruth) Bentz of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ray Kerschner and Edward Ott; two sons, Charles E. Ott and Joseph Ott and his wife, Maggie; three brothers, Paul, Donald, and James Bentz; and three sisters, Anna Voss, Susanna Pavillard, and an infant sister, Rita Bentz.

Betty was a 1944 graduate of Calvert High School, Tiffin, and received her Registered Nursing degree from St. Vincent Nursing School, Toledo. She retired from Tiffin Developmental Center after 25 years of service.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, Tiffin Moose #846, Calvert Alumni, and St. Vincent's Alumni.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-3113.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. Matthew Rader. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to Mass at the church.

Burial will take place immediately following Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
