G. Earl Kinley
G. Earl Kinley, 88, of Upper Sandusky, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 26, 1933, in Upper Sandusky, to the late Harman and Roma (Karcher) Kinley. He married Jane E. Rall on Aug. 4, 1956, and she preceded him in death Jan. 5, 2019. Surviving are his children, Daniel Kinley of Columbus, Theresa (Scott) Gillfillan of Mt. Victory, David Kinley of Upper Sandusky, Angela (Larry) Franz of Swanton, Patricia "Honey" (Jeff) Willson of Nevada, Patrick Kinley of Upper Sandusky, Rebecca (Steve) Howard of Upper Sandusky, and Thomas Kinley of Carey; daughter-in-law, Kristy Kinley of Buckeye Lake; 30 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Rosemary Austin of Upper Sandusky, Helen (Roger) Mawer of Harpster, Sharon (Charles) McCarthy of Upper Sandusky, Robert Kinley of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Ann Dillion of Tavares, Florida, and Kathy Kinley of Upper Sandusky; sisters-in-law, Rosella Rall and Sally Rall; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Kinley.
Earl graduated from Upper Sandusky High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1951-1955 aboard two aircraft carriers on the USS Kearsarge CVA 33 and USS Phillipine Sea CVA 47. He was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church. Earl was a 4th degree member of K of C #2050 and member of American Legion Post #225, AmVets #777.
He was a farmer until retirement with the help of his wife and children. In 2005, he retired from Uni-Grip as a truck driver. Earl was an avid Upper Sandusky Rams fan. He enjoyed following his grandchildren in their activities. Earl's family brought him great joy and he will be greatly missed because he was deeply loved.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery with full military graveside services being conducted by Upper Sandusky Veterans. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
