George V. Fadeley

George V. Fadeley, 93, of Tiffin, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.

George was born July 25, 1929, in Wytheville, Virginia, to the late George F. and Effie (Mathias) Fadeley. He married Phyllis "Joan" (Shock) on Valentine's Day in 1949 and she preceded him in death Sept. 18, 2014.

George's survivors include his children, Wanda (Tom) Risner of Sycamore and David (Jan) Fadeley of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Michelle (Ray) Harrison, Steven (Michelle) Risner, Mark Allan and Isaac Fadeley, Celeste McGee, and Michael Ward; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

George worked as a construction worker and also worked at Hanson in Tiffin. He later retired from Basic Refractories in Bettsville after 25 years and also later retired from UCC of Tiffin as their custodian.

George was an active member of New Beginnings Assembly of God Church for over 60 years. He loved helping others in any way he could, especially remodeling projects. He also enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing, and loved family get-togethers and playing with all his grandchildren. George was also involved with Army National Guard.

George was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Larry Allen and Mark E. Fadeley; three brothers, Oliver, Russell, and Charlie Fadeley; and four sisters, Edna Boyer, Helen Bogue, Lillian Hopkins, and Sarah Moon.

George's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church, Tiffin, with Pastor Rex King officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin, is assisting family with arrangements.
