George is survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Rhoad and Shirley Rhoad, both of Tiffin, Betty (Dick) Beidelschies of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Kathy Miller of Bloomville, brother-in-law, Joel Miller; and nephews and nieces, Stephen (Marcia) Rhoad of Tiffin, Thomas (Kim) Rhoad of Howell, Michigan, Sue Elle (Terry) Bogner of Holland, Ohio, Rich (Mary) Beidelschies of Canfield, Rod Beidelschies of Montrose, Colorado, and Ryan (Megan) Miller of Sycamore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; brothers, Bill, John, and Robert Rhoad; and brother-in-law, Norman (Kathy) Miller.

George grew up in Bloomville, graduating from Bloomville High School in 1958. From there, he continued a life supporting his community and country. He served eight years in U.S. Army Reserve as a cook within the mobile automotive and small arms support unit stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. George worked for General Electric and then for many years Clinton Township Department of Transportation, where among many important tasks, he spent countless nights clearing the roads of snow. He was a member of Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department where he and his beloved wife, Bonnie, would work the annual Ox Roast Fundraiser. For over 30 years, George could be found during the summers working their restaurant, Woody's Drive-In, a root beer stand in Fremont.

George was a member of Shriner's International through the Zenobia Tiffin Shrine Club, participating with Bonnie in many parades throughout the region, driving his 1948 Jeepster, bringing awareness to Shriner's Hospitals for Children. He and Bonnie were also avid Western Square Dancers where they created many lasting friendships and belonged to the Seneca T Squares.

George belonged to Tiffin Masonic Lodge #77, Seneca Chapter #42, Clinton Council #47, DeMolay Commandery #9, Valley of Toledo, Seneca County Scottish Rite, Association Zenobia Shrine Jeepsters and Legion of Honor.
