George Stahl Obituary

George A. Stahl

George A. Stahl, 76, of Bradner, passed away peacefully Friday, June 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Bowling Green Manor Nursing Home.

He was born May 22, 1947, in Bradner, to Michael and Helen (Sieple) Stahl. George married Cynthia S. Shearer on Nov. 10, 1973, at St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner.

George is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cindy; son, Dwain (Maricar) Stahl of Bradner; daughters, Teresa (Jim) Swaisgood of Gibsonburg and Tammy (Rob McDaid) Stahl of Bradner; sisters, Jane Stiger, Betty (Cal) Linkey, and Susan Wildman, all of Bradner; grandchildren, Zach (Katie), Nicole (Brian), Kylie, Katie, Mitchell, Anson (Denise), Dillon, and Hannah; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Braelynn, Ezra, Addie, Avah, Aiden, and Kaleb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Helen; brothers, Nealy, John, and Thomas; and sisters, Doris Markel, Jean Stahl, Lois Ruble, Ruby Bickford, Erma Reinhart, and Delcie Reef.

George was a 1965 graduate of Lakota High School and then served his country proudly in U.S. Army during Vietnam. He then worked at Chrysler in Perrysburg for 30 years as a machine operator and also was the proud owner and operator of Stahl Electric in Bradner from 1979-2017. George was a member of Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 in Bradner, Bradner Fire Department, AMVETS in Bowling Green, VFW in Fremont, Moose Lodge in Fostoria, and NOVFA where he served as past President. Among many hobbies over the years, George enjoyed being involved with Albert Bowe American Legion Honor Guard, was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, traveling on OSU cruises, spending winters in Florida, and hosting weekly ice cream socials. His greatest love in life though, was spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2023, at Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne, where at 7:30 p.m., the Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Fireman's Association will hold a Last Alarm Service followed by the Albert Bowe American Legion final salute. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the funeral home. George's celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Bradner Cemetery with a military service provided by Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 of Bradner.
