Georgia Scheid

Georgia "Gee Gee" Scheid, 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 3, 2025, after an extended illness at Otterbein in Pemberville.

She was born in Willard, June 25, 1938, to the late Wilbur and Ethel (Dean) Shoup. She graduated from Attica High School in 1956 and attended Bowling Green State University. Georgia spent 27 years working as an office manager for Haines Insurance before retiring in 1999.

Georgia was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Huron, where she was active and participated in quilting and working on the Zion Prayer Path. She also attended First Faith Community Church in Sandusky and Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville. Gee Gee was a former member of Kiwanis International in Sandusky and Genoa, United States Power Squadron and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She loved living by the lake, boating and time with her family. In later years, she also enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and Toledo Mud Hens.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jon M. Haines, whom she was married to for 46 years; her second husband, G. Pat Scheid, whom she was married to for 18 years; her parents; brother, Ronald Shoup; sister, Cynthia Shoup; and sister-in-law, Barbara Shoup.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa (Jim) Deal of Woodville and Leslie (Vince) Power of Maumee; brother, Curt (Becky Nichols) Shoup (Attica); grandchildren, Melissa (Michael Feliz) Reed, Dr. Erin (Tony) Vieira, Kyle Reed and Matthew (Jean) Deal; five great-grandchildren; and six stepchildren.

A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Solomon Church, 305 W Main St, in Woodville. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Robinson-Walker Funeral Home in Genoa.
