Harold L. Coffman

Harold L. Coffman, 76, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, after a valiant 27-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

He was born Dec. 21, 1946, to Karl and Helen Coffman. He married Cheryl (Sherry) Speelman on Aug. 6, 1966, in Alvada, and she survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Kelly (Greg) Depinet of Texas and Christine (Erin) Moyer of Tiffin; brother, Paul (Nancy) Coffman; sister-in-law, Linda Coffman; eight grandchildren, Ben Hilkert, Kevin Lewis, Sam (Rashae) Hilkert, Jenna (Brennan) Santaniello, Allen Hilkert, Sally Hilkert, Elizabeth Moyer, and Jonah Moyer; and three great-grandchildren, Kenlee, Abel, and Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daniel Coffman and Wayne Coffman; and son-in-law, Clay Lewis.

Harold graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1965 and later attended Terra Technical College, Owens Community College, and Bowling Green State University. He worked at General Electric for 19 years until it closed. He then worked for Sycamore Industries, Findlay Industries, P & A, Seneca Environmental, and OCECO as a quality control manager, before starting his own business, Diversified Technical Services, doing consulting work.

Harold was a member of Army Reserves for six years and member of Moose Lodge for many years.

From a very early age, Harold had a love for Corvettes, which continued for his entire life. He owned Corvettes from nearly every decade, enjoying the car shows and activities with friends with this similar interest. He enjoyed attending auto races and was part of a pit crew for his dear friend who raced Corvettes. Harold was also a devoted fan of Ohio sports teams, his favorites being Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State University football team. Some of his other interests throughout his life were bowling, playing euchre, and camping with family and friends. Harold enjoyed having a family pet almost all of his life.

Harold's funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society of Seneca County, Stein Hospice Care, or Bridge Hospice.

I will cherish your Corvette collections and your game room. There are so many other wonderful memories. I will miss you Uncle Harold, but so glad the pain is over for you. Enjoy Heaven. See you again someday!
