Harvey John Kiesel

Harvey John Kiesel, 94, of Tiffin, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital.

He was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Hopewell Twp. to Carl G. and Alma E. (Staib) Kiesel. He married Hilda Graefing on May 28, 1960, at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Kiesel of Tiffin; son, Thomas E. Kiesel of Columbus; and brother, Lloyd Kiesel of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Armin Kiesel; and sister, Anna Mary Goetz.

Harvey was a 1945 graduate of McCutchenville High School and retired after 33 years from National Machinery where he was a member of Quarter Century Club. He farmed with his dad for many years and was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Harvey was a 52-year member of Tiffin Masonic Lodge #77, past Worshipful Master of Tiffin Post #77, past High Priest of Seneca Chapter #42, past Illustrious Master of Clinton Council #47, past Eminent Commander of Demolay Commandery #9, Knight of York Cross of Honour, and recipient of Meritorious Service Award and Knight Commander of the Temple.

Harvey enjoyed traveling, visiting family throughout the United States, golfing, watching baseball and football, and square dancing with Crazy 8's Square Dance Club.

His memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Pastor Audra Ferguson officiating. Burial will be private at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be conducted at 2:45 p.m.
