Helen R. Michelli

Helen R. Michelli, 91, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, February 15, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

On July 22, 1933, in Tiffin, she was born to Albert L. and Loretta F. (Lorentz) Steinmetz. She married William J. "Mooch" Michelli on June 21, 1952, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Ronald) Boner of Tiffin, Linda (Steven) Sauer of Carroll, and Janet (Ron) Griffen of Foley, Alabama; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Harold, Thomas (infant) and Donald Steinmetz; and a sister, Mary Alice Houck.

Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1952 graduate of Tiffin Calvert. She was a teacher's aid and bus driver for Seneca County School of Opportunity for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. Helen enjoyed trips to the casino and was a member of Tiffin Elks, past president of Emblem Club, Tiffin Moose, Tiffin Eagles, AMVETS and American Legion. Helen enjoyed having a good time and loved when people visited her, they never left hungry or thirsty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Friday, February 21, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Hoffmann-Gotfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Heartland Hospice.
