Helen Stuerzenberger Obituary
Helen Catherine Stuerzenberger (sister of Mary Doran of Carey) passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at Mercy Health – St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
Catherine was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Cleveland, to Vincent and Helen (Rackus) Stuerzenberger, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from St. Peter Catholic High School in 1966. Catherine worked as a seamstress for over 30 years, making gloves and coats for steel mill workers.
In 2013, Catherine, along with her mother, moved to St. Francis Ministries in Tiffin, where she lived until her death.
Catherine is survived by her sister, Mary (Charles) Doran; nieces and nephews, Sheila (Jon) Thomas, Brad (Jacqui) Schlachter, Brian (Rachel) Schlachter, Kevin (Kendra) Schlachter, and Melissa (Brandon) Snyder; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Original Shrine Church, Carey, with the Rev. Conrad Sutter OFM Conv. officiating. Visitation for friends will be 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Catherine's graveside service will be 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
