Howard Flood Obituary

Howard G. Flood

Howard G. Flood, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Bridge Hospice. After six days of prayer, he was reunited with those who passed before him.

Howard is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara L. (Huffman) Flood, whom he married January 5, 1963. He also leaves behind his children, Robin (Timothy) Bulger and Jason (Bonnie) Flood; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Michael (Katy) Bulger, Rachael (Daniel) Hark, Matthew Flood, Zachary Flood, Brady Flood, and Madelyn Flood. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Daniel Hark, Rozlyn Hark, Conner Bulger, Camryn Bulger, and the soon-to-arrive Charlotte Bulger. His family will never forget his warm greetings, the way he lovingly called each of them "Baby," his home-cooked chicken wings and french fries, family gatherings in the garage, his cheerful whistling, and, most of all, his heartfelt hugs and parting words, "I love you."

Howard is also survived by his sister, Betty (Daryl) Holt of Dwight, Illinois; and his sister-in-law, Geisla Flood of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. and Gouldy J. (Swartzmiller) Flood; as well as his brothers, Paul Flood, Charles O. (Barbara J.) Flood Jr., and Ray Flood.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Howard took pride in his career. He helped farm with Jeff Keirns, worked many years at Basic Refectories in Bettsville, and later drove a concrete truck. He was a past master of Eden Lodge No.310, Bloomville and Seneca Lodge No.790, Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio in Republic, and many apendant bodies over the years.

In accordance with his wishes, family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville, followed by Masonic service at 11 a.m.

Howard Flood's love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

Thoughts of donation may be sent to Seneca Lodge, Republic, Ohio, to benefit Shriners Hospital.
