Jacob Charles "Jake" Kessler

Jacob Charles "Jake" Kessler, 67, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at his home.

He was born Nov. 18, 1957, in Fostoria to Charles Kessler Jr. and Mary Ellen (Podach) Kessler.

Surviving is his mother, Mary Ellen Kessler-Hoover; brother, Michael (Debbie) Kessler; sisters, Susan Tiell, Deborah (Ron) Tiell-Hershey and Marlene (Jeff) Burns all of Fostoria; sisters, Jane Kessler, Chandler, Arizona, Rosann (Mike) Arbogast, Tiffin and Diane (Greg) Arbogast, Prosperity, South Carolina; and 25 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kessler Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jerald Tiell.

Jake graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School in 1976, where he played on the school's first football team. After working for his father as an electrician, he later owned Jacob Kessler Electric and enjoyed fishing and attending church with his family.

Jake was a hard-worker who always was trying to better himself and he never gave up. For many years, he suffered from mental illness. He passed away peacefully, with all of his family being able to be with him.

Private family burial will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Bascom at a later date.

My greatest memory will be every time I came home to visit family Jake was always happy to go to lunch with me and share what was going on in his world. Love to you always Jake. Love Jane. I will miss my family photos with you as they always put us together.

My most heartfelt sympathies and condolences to all the Kessler family. Jake was a dear friend that I met while he and Charlie worked in Port Clinton. He is at peace now with Charlie, probably pulling some wire. God Bless you all.

So sorry to hear of Jake´s passing. I always looked forward to his questions and our conversations in the parking lot as he came early for church Jake had such a curious mind and wanted to learn so much about God , he kept me on my toes! He was a searcher! "You will seek Me, and find Me...If you search for me with all your heart."
