James P. "Jim" Hale

James P. "Jim" Hale, 75, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at home due to cancer.

Jim was born June 29, 1948, to Charles and Hilda (Mackling) Hale. He married Rebecca Gracia on Dec. 31, 1971, and she survives.

Jim's other survivors include his daughter, Hyson (David) Krusmark; son, Jared (Jenny) Hale; grandchildren, Logan (Hannah) Hale, Ivy Hale, Sabrina Hickenbottom, and Sydney Hickenbottom; twin sister, Janis Sattler; sister, Vivian (Paul) Storck; and niece, Karen Kummerer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim worked at National Machinery in Tiffin as a machinist for 41 years and then at Whirlpool in Findlay for eight years. When not working, he enjoyed designing and building sets for many of the local theaters and high schools. He also enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales and flea markets, and playing his harmonica. Jim was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was active in the public ministry as well as with his congregation in Tiffin. He was a very friendly man who never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with anyone he met. He always had something positive to say about people and had a very kind heart.

Jim's memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at Tiffin Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 360 S. Sandusky St., Tiffin.

I remember Jim as a wonderful person I loved to stop and talk with when I saw in in the shop at National. When I saw him I always wanted to stop and chat with him. He was a good guy!
Friendly. Always smiling. The person everyone liked. I am glad I had the opportunity to know him and call him a friend.

To say Jim was an integral part of The Ritz Players is not really saying enough. As a director, I appreciated how he helped make my vision actually happen on the stage through the sets he created.
Heaven will be even more beautiful from this day forward.

Becky, Hyson and Jared, Lin and I send our deepest sympathy at this time. Jim was a great guy, and most of the best shows in the early years of the Ritz Players had his stamp on them. He will be missed.

My sympathy to Jim's family. He was always there to help the Ritz Players and me. He even made the milk cart I used when the Players performed "Fiddler" in 1985. Thanks. Jim"
