Jane Ann Clouse

Jane Ann Clouse, 77, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at Mercy Health-Rita's Medical Center.

She was born April 28, 1947, in Tiffin, to Frederick V. and Rose M. (Scherger) Elchert. On October 09, 1967, she married Robert Clouse and he preceded her in death Feb. 21, 2024.

Survivors include her children, Amy (Rick) Recker of Tiffin, Charles "Chuck" (Jenny) Clouse of Tiffin, Sandy (Brad) Adelsperger of Tiffin, Deb (Lonnie) Williams of Cleveland and Danny (Laura) Clouse of Ames, Iowa; sisters, Rose Ann Cornet of Melmore, Ruth Wade of Tiffin and Lori (Chuck) Austerberry of Chesaning, Michigan; 14 grandchildren, Alex (Brooke) Recker, Cassie (Alex) Davenport, Adam (Jenna) Recker, Josh Recker, Lucas Recker, Robbie Clouse, Tessa (Jason) Tooley, Tyler (Lizzy) Clouse, Brittany (Cole) Davidson, Allison Adelsperger, Reggie Bostock, Marty Bostock, Julia Clouse and Rachel Clouse; ten great-grandchildren, Grayson Davenport, Rose Davenport, Carmen Recker, Gia Recker, Lena Tooley, Easton Tooley, Eli Tooley, Dawson Tooley, Grant Davidson and Mia Davidson.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bill Elchert and Fritz Elchert.

Jane graduated from New Riegel High School and Heidelberg College. For 30 years, she taught first grade at St. Joseph Elementary. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Serra Club. Jane was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and grandmother who found joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid reader and puzzle enthusiast, she lovingly crocheted blankets for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her retirement years, Jane traveled with her husband and cherished attending her grandchildren's events. She looked forward to the annual Clouse Campout, where she enjoyed the family time together, outdoor cooking, and games on the homestead. Jane's legacy of warmth, patience, unconditional love, encouragement and gentleness will be remembered by all who knew her.

Her funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Roary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with family from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic School or Heartland Hospice,
