Jean Fox Obituary

Jean Fox

M. Jean Fox, 87, of Englewood, Florida, and formerly of Tiffin and Upper Sandusky, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at her daughter's residence in Wasilla, Alaska.

Jean was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Tiffin, the middle of three daughters of the late Charles and Dorothy Mae (Drown) Beck. She graduated from Tiffin High School in the class of 1952.

For over 20 years, Jean worked as an area manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry, assisting all of the local sales representatives in northwest Ohio and southern Michigan.

Shortly after retiring from Sarah Coventry, Jean moved down to Englewood, Florida, where she loved spending time with her dear friends and loved the weather for over 25 years. Soon after moving to Florida, she started summering in Wasilla, Alaska, to spend as much time with her daughter, Colleen, as she could. Jean also was a world traveler, going to see the Pyramids in Egypt, Great Wall in China, and even making it as far as Australia. One of her claims to fame was her random encounter with the Pope when she visited the Vatican in Rome.

Throughout her life, Jean was an excellent cook, always making sure no one ever left her home hungry. She also had quite the recipe book collection and she used her family as her guinea pigs to try out all of the new recipes. She was known to cook enough for a small army and especially went all out for the holidays. Every Christmas, Jean would bake and bake, making what seemed like 100 dozen cookies to share with everyone. She also was an avid card player with a special fondness for bridge.

The matriarch of the family, Jean was the best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother her family could have ever asked for. She always put them first, no matter what.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, Colleen (Ronnie) McKeever of Wasilla, Alaska, John (Julie) Fox of Oak Harbor, and David (Koreen) Fox of Englewood, Florida; two grandchildren, Erika Fox of Detroit, Michigan, and Alex (Abbie) Fox of Port Clinton; two great-grandchildren, Lillie and Winnie Fox; and several nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Jean was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Brubaker and Joan Hossler.

Services will be observed privately by her family. Burial will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin.

I will always remember the wonderful meals Ms. Fox made when she was up here in Alaska with Colleen.
She could always light up a room with her beautiful smile and laughter.
Ms. Fox was always like a second mom to me and my fur babies.

RIP and thank you for so many years of love

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Jean Fox. She was the best landlord anyone could ask for and would bring cookies for us at Christmas and even made a special batch for our family after we had car accident. Her kindness and thoughtfulness will be greatly missed. I pray her kindness and love lives on in everyone that knew her. I know it will with my family. My condolences and love to this special family.
Love, Leila and Eva Lloyd along with my son, Jay and his girlfriend Maggie.
