Jeanne Skafidas Obituary
Jeanne was co-owner and operator of both A&W and Skuffy's Family Restaurant in Concord with her husband Nick for many years until retirement.
Jeanne loved playing cards, Farkel and crocheting but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Jeanne was a wonderful cook who never cooked the same recipe twice. When she cooked, it was always enough for a small army. For many years, Jeanne and her husband Nick spent their winters in Arizona. After retiring, Thanksgiving became very important to Jeanne as this was the final gathering of the whole family in NH until spring. The day became known as "ThanksChristmas" and every family member looked forward to this day. Jeanne was a kind, wonderful person who would spend much time with her sisters and nieces playing epic games of cards and kismet. There was a soft spot in Jeanne's heart for her grandchildren and she was happiest when the grandkids were around. Each of her grandchildren were equally the most important person in the world to Jeanne and if there was anything she could do to help them or dote on them, she did it. Jeanne also had a green thumb and was an avid gardener. The plants and flower beds that Jeanne kept were almost legendary in nature.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Nick who passed in 2019, her son Christopher who passed in 2009, four sisters and seven brothers.
Jeanne is survived by two sons; Nick Skafidas and his wife Kristen, George Skafidas and his wife Jessica, daughter; Angelina Skafidas - Adamo and her husband Tony Adamo, daughter in law; Marie Skafidas, seven grandchildren; Julie, Thomas, Nickolas, Greyson, Cocoa, James and Georgia, her first great grandchild Mark and one sister, Bernice Grant.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday Sept. 8th from 4 to 8PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Concord.
Funeral services will be Friday Sept. 9th at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the Waters Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.

My deepest sympathy to you all. James and Georgia so sorry you lost you Grammy. We go way back to A&W days. Your parents were so kind to all 9 of us kids. Good memories of both of them. I will miss seeing her on the porch on my break from MBS. She will be missed.

Our condolences to the Skafidas families. We rented their apartment on Allison street when we got married. Nick and Jeanne were both wonderful people and so nice to us.

I am so sorry to learn that my sister-in-law Jeanne passed suddenly. I shall treasure the many memories that I shared, especially when our children were young and we spent time together at her home on Allison Street and on Curtisville Road at her home.
She will be missed by so many.

Jeanne was an amazing soul. Leaving us only wishing to be an ounce of the person she was. Jeanne is most definitely looking over us all and helping guide plus on our journeys.
