Jerry Lee Spencer
Jerry Lee Spencer, 79, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his loved ones. Jerry was born April 15, 1946, in Tiffin, to Ralph and Donna (Kiser) Spencer. As a devoted husband, Jerry married Sherry Marie (Bell) Spencer August 7, 1965, at First Lutheran Church in Tiffin, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Donna Spencer; his wife, Sherry Spencer;mother-in-law, Joyce Bell; and two brothers, Warren and Rick Spencer; and leaving a legacy through his two sons, Mark Spencer and Scott (Bridget) Spencer; and his daughter, Michele (Tim) Spencer-Riedel; seven grandchildren, Kayla Spencer, Zach Kalafsky, Raven Spencer, Madisyn (Christian) Magill, Falon Spencer, Josh (Rachel) Riedel and Zach (Kayla) Riedel; 10 great-grandchildren, Renlee, Rowan, Everly, Beckham, Bearette, Coleson, Iliza, Adaline, Colter and Lukas.
Mr. Spencer was a 1964 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and attended the University of Toledo. He was a third-degree Mason of Tiffin Lodge No. 77 and a 32-degree Mason of Toledo. He was a member of Old Fort Fire Department, formerly specializing in JAWS of Life unit, and a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary from 2009 to 2014.
Throughout Jerry's career, he served as an engineer at Webster Manufacturing, a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Career Technical Education instructor at Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers (Sentinel campus), where he received a Teacher of the Year Award and retired after 27 years of service. Jerry also served as an adjunct CAD instructor at Terra State Community College, teaching part-time for 15 years. In partnership, Jerry and his wife, Sherry, contributed to their sons' construction businesses as a CAD designer and Financial Manager.
Jerry had a passion for classic muscle cars and was a fan of TV shows that centered around construction and architecture. He was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan who loved to challenge OSU fans. Jerry enjoyed spending time collectively with his family and friends, boating with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, camping in his RV park home at Clinton Lake Campgrounds, and taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on custom golf cart rides.
Jerry will be remembered as a man of faith, wisdom, strength, and immense humor. His memory will be a guiding star for all who knew and loved him. His passion for giving to others and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.
A private service and burial will take place at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
