Joan Lee Christie Brogdon

Oct 16, 1940 - Mar 17, 2025

Fremont

Joan Lee Christie Brogdon of Fremont, transitioned from this life to the next Monday March 17, 2025. Joan was born October 16, 1940, to Donald Christie and Georgia Turlington in Hampton, Virginia. Her closest relative throughout her life was her sister, Mary Potter, who resides in Minnesota. Joan was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Donald "Donnie" Brogdon. "Joanie," as he liked to call her, and Donnie loved each other for 36 years before his untimely passing in 1996.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Sherri Brogdon-Soster (Keith) and Melinda Adams (Joe Gary); her grandchildren, Sarah Woodard (David), Lauren Meade (Adam), Emerson Brogdon-Soster, Anthony Soster (Maddy Dubelko); and her great-grandsons, Callan Woodard, Charlie Meade, and Elliott Meade.

Other than doting on her family, Joan had many hobbies, including needlework, houseplants, feeding "her birds," westerns, and watching her favorite sports teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians, and anyone who beat the Yankees. She worked for many years at Davis Besse, but Joan's favorite job was working at Bergman Orchard Farm Stands/Greenhouses. Generous by nature and raised with a sense of Southern hospitality, she was kind, helpful, and giving to everyone she knew and loved. Feisty, strong, and full of grit, Joan was an incredible woman, daughter, mom, grandma, and great-grandmother whom all will deeply miss.

Although I only knew Gram a short time, I knew she love art and life. We are honored to have some of her needle work in my home.
May you all have peace and know that she would have wanted you to remember her and what she gave us all
