Joan Collet Obituary
Joan E. Collet, 92, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Upper Sandusky, to Ralph and Dorothy (Shumaker) Schindler. Joan married Norman H. Collet on Oct. 2, 1954, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky, and he preceded her in death.
Joan is survived by a son, Randal Collet of Upper Sandusky; daughter, Linda (Stephen) Swihart of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren, Matt (Bobbie) Swihart of Upper Sandusky and Anna Kimmet of Upper Sandusky; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Kathleen) Schindler of Dublin; brother-in-law, Henry Collet of Tiffin; and sisters-in-law, Lucille (Mickey) Rausch of Illinois and Cathy Brandt of Tiffin.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and infant son, Joel Collet.
Joan was a homemaker and member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she helped with funeral dinners for many years. Joan volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store and belonged to Eden Homemakers social club.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Savio Manavalan OFM Conv. and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, with a Catholic Prayer Service starting at 1:45 p.m.
