Joan K. Ziegman

Joan K. Ziegman, 85, of Fostoria, passed away at 3:48 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at St. Catherine's Manor, Fostoria.

She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in New Washington, to the late Anthony and Inez Fetzer) McCarthy. She married Wayne R. Ziegman on Sept. 2, 1961, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, New Washington, and he survives in Fostoria.

Joan is also survived by her daughters, Kathy (Allen) Reinhart of Arcadia and Diane (Jay) Ziegman-Nye of New Riegel; grandchildren, Elysia (Matt) Tesnow, Ashley (Aaron) Stahl, Andrew (Tiffany) Reinhart, Eric (Ali Bland) Reinhart, Breana Reinhart, Jacob Nye, Jaclyn Ziegman-Nye, Joleen Ziegman-Nye, Jayden Nye, and Jocelyn (Josie) Ziegman-Nye; great-grandchildren, Tristan Coover, Avery, Axton, Alex, and Atley Stahl, Kasen, Bennett, and Hudson Reinhart, and Maizely Reinhart; sisters, Mary Ann (Richard) Painter of Fostoria and Eileen (Gary) Utiss of Willard; and sisters-in-law, Linda and Mary McCarthy.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Folgeson and Judith Shell; and brothers, Anthony Joseph, and Thomas and Jack McCarthy.

Joan was a 1955 graduate of New Washington High School. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its choir and memorial choir for over 45 years. She was a long time T.O.P.S. member, holding several offices. She was a life-long member of Foxy Four Square Dance Club. Joan was also a 12-year Perry Township Clerk employed at Tri County Tarp LLC as well as the former Buckeye Mart, Fostoria.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio, 44830. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery. A lunch will then be at St. Wendelin Parish Hall.
