Joann Bowman Obituary
JoAnn Marie "Joanie" Bowman, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at St. Francis Home.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1933, to Edward and Matilda (Miller) Smith in Reed, Ohio.
Joanie is survived by her children, Barb (Matt) Craun of Florida, Jenny Childress of Fostoria, Mike (Jeanne) Bowman of Fremont, Margie Thomas of Fremont, Connie Bowman of Fremont, Larry (Ann) Bowman of Green Springs, and Kathy Myers of Fostoria; 15 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Todd Thomas, Steve Abbott; sister Charlotte Phillips.
JoAnn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, cleaned the church, and was in Rosary Altar Society. She worked at Ames, the Party Store, and other area department stores. She enjoyed playing pinochle, card flights, puzzles, crocheting, ceramics, and watching T.V. JoAnn was also a huge Cleveland Indians fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Her burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-2424. The family asks that visitors wear their Cleveland Indians or Guardians attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or the Shriners Hospital.
