John A. Perna

John A. Perna, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 8, 2023, at home.

He was born Aug. 10, 1929, in Tiffin, to Leonard and Vita (Fortunato) Perna. He married Josephine Corrado on May 15, 1954.

John's survivors include his wife, Josephine Perna of Tiffin; daughters, Diane (Steve) Windau, Joanne Neall, and Gina Perna, all of Tiffin; brothers, Mike (Shirley) Perna of Cadillac, Michigan, and Frank (Melinda) Perna and Lenny (Paula) Perna, both of Tiffin; sisters, Mary Reid, Lucy Wade, Jeannie (Larry) Adelsperger, Margie Hodges, and Dolores (Mike) Herbert, all of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Brad, John, Andrea, Brian, Nicole, Connor, Audrey, and Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Elyse, Brynn, and Kora.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Elchert; brother, Joe Perna; and sisters, Connie Corrado, Natty Kistler, and Carmie Fabrizio.

John served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Webster Mfg. after 46 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Tiffin Eagles #402. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening and doing yard work for 20 years for Dr. Lupica. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and being at home. Along with his wife, John loved family get-togethers and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

John's funeral will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-2424, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be private at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
