John Wurm Obituary
John Urban Wurm, 75, of Tiffin, died at 10:44 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Heritage Village of Waterville. He was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Bellevue, to Vincent P. and Rita Veronica (Schalk) Wurm. He married Bernadette Meyers on Aug. 4, 1972, at Reed Assumption Catholic Church, Reed, and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Angela M. (Michael) Kiesel of Tiffin and Victoria Wurm of Saline, Michigan; grandson, Christian Kiesel; brother, Thomas Wurm of Tiffin; and sister, Mary (Ronald) Schaar of Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sarah Miller.
John was a 1966 Calvert High School graduate and attended Tiffin University. He served in United States Navy during Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He worked at General Electric, Tiffin, and also at Whirlpool, Findlay, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, (419) 447-3113.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to Mass at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Seneca County United Veterans Council will perform military honors at the grave site.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church and Fisher House Foundation.
