Jon M. Blum

Jon M. Blum, 85, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026, at Mercy Health - Tiffin Hospital.

He was born November 14, 1940, in Tiffin, to Richard O. and Dorothy A. (Greene) Blum. On June 22, 1963, in St. Mary Catholic Church, he married Barbara Kasza of Tiffin.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Blum, married for 62 years. Also his sons, Jon (Lisa) Blum Jr. of York, Pennsylvania, Kevin (Heather) Blum of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Mark L. (Kristen) Blum of Atlanta, Georgia. His grandchildren include Luke, Ethan, Ellie, Casey, Tanner, Kenzie, Karter, Cameron, Grant and Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jon graduated from Columbian High School in 1958. He was a National Machinery Scholarship winner and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for Columbian High School basketball in 1963.

He went on to graduate from the University of Toledo in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He began his career with Allis-Chalmers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After 13 years, he was transferred to York, Pennsylvania, where his family spent 34 years. In York, Jon served as president of York Manufacturing Association and Labor Relations Committee. Jon and Barbara retired to Tiffin in 2010.

Jon enjoyed tennis, bridge, reading, family vacations and February's in Florida.

Jon was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Together with Barbara, he enjoyed many of his sons' and grandchildren's school and athletic activities.

Friends may visit with family from 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 85 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with the Rev. Jesse Chick officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will be at St. Mary Parish's rec room.
